The sheltered hamlet of Porthloo

Nestled in a quiet rural setting at Porthloo on the largest of the islands, St. Mary's, 'Eastbank' is only minutes away from the sandy secluded bathing beach of Thomas Porth.
Spectacular views can be had from the nearby remains of an ancient castle known locally as Harry's Walls whilst the adjacent beach at Porthmellon with its sailing and canoeing centre is just a short walk along the coatal path.
In the hamlet of Porthloo can be found several interesting craft workshops and two art galleries.

With its elevated position, 'Eastbank' provides guests with panoramic inland views over picturesque countryside, the house overlooking open fields forming part of a designated conservation area adjacent to the duck pond at the western end of the Lower Moors nature trail.
Within a pleasant five minute walk of the property are the island's golf course, several ancient monuments and a garden restaraunt.

The harbour in Hugh Town
Hugh Town, the 'capital' of St. Mary's with its shops, banks, post office, hotel bars, pubs, fine restaraunts and other amenities is a pleasant fifteen minute walk from the property via the coastal path with spectacular views of the off-islands of Samson and Tresco and the absorbing activities of the inter-island boats around St. Mary's harbour along the way.
'Off-island' boat excursions including trips to the famous Abbey gardens on Tresco and wildlife tours leave daily from the quay.

Located in a pleasant and tranquil area, yet within easy reach of places to visit and the island's many amenities, you will find 'Eastbank' ideally situated to partake of the delights of this unique archipeligo.
